Does Google monitor new or resurrected domains before…

So we have been trying to resurrect this site for the past 3 or 4 months but we are struggling.

The domain is about 8 years old but has been dormant for the past 18 months. Meaning no new content. We gave the site a redesign and lots of fresh new content but we have not seen any pickup if anything it has dropped a little.
Does Google put these sites to be monitored for a while after been dormant like a sandbox? Any evidence or ideas about this?

Sandbox still exists?

Google Releases Search Quality Evaluation Guidelines

Just got this and need to read it properly later:
http://static.googleusercontent.com/…guidelines.pdf

However some interesting and odd things here:
Section 5.3 on page 27 – "For some topics …. popularity, user engagement and user reviews can be considered evidence of reputation"

Page 107 on the search about [tom cruise] it makes it sound like someone at Google is looking at websites page by page and making decisions???? The page given in the example is not considered ‘Needs Fully Met’ because there are lots of other pages … which seems weird?

Big section on Needs Met ratings for porn!!! Wonder who defines that!

url structures

hi
i am new to this site but had an interesting question ( i hope). i have the domain devonfamilyholidays.co.uk and i am going to target phrases such as devon family hotel, devon family cottges etc.

so on my sub pages which domain structure is best:
www.devonfamilyholidays.co.uk/hotels
devonfamilyholidays.co.uk/family-hotels

thanks and any help much appreciated :)
neil

p.s. i am also going to launch cornwallfamilyholiday.co.uk in the coming months – it will be on the saem framework but with different content – are there any issues with it being same domain, host and site framework as the devon site???

Traffic of 80 SEO landingspages after a year

Hey guys,

I’m new to this forum, and I’m looking for some expert advice / insights.

I will launch an App and a website in the beginning of next year, and SEO will be a big part of it. I need to have a lot of traffic, so that my FREE multi-sided platform / website / App will work (network effect). For this I need to generate as much traffic as possible, so that the concept is useful for consumers. (it needs to be fine-tuned and rated by users, so that it will be useful for other users)

My plan is to work 30 hours a week purely on SEO, and I want to launch 80 landing-pages in the first year (+/- 7 a month.) Would it be possible then to generate a traffic of 120.000 a month, after a year? Keywords will be mainly focused on food, restaurants, and cities. For example: best restaurants Amsterdam, best restaurants Paris, best food The Hague, etc. I was thinking of targeting the 240.000 monthly searches with keywords, and try to generate 120.000 with SEO. Other keywords (tourism related) could be possible as well.

I have no real experience in SEO at all, just did a school project, and read a lot of blogs about it. I just bought the books: The Art of SEO, SEO Fitness Workbook and SEO 2016. And like I said: I will focus around 30 hours a week purely at SEO. I am willing to learn, and work for it. Would a traffic of 120.000 a month with 80 landing pages be a realistic number? Could it be more? Or is it too much?

Another option would be to outsource it to a SEO company our freelancer, but I would rather invest in something else like ambassadors, instore promotion, etc. so I prefer to do it myself.

Would be really great of you guys could give me some answers on this.

Kind regards,

are plug ins causing loading delay of a site?

hello,
I was confused with Googleinsights tool so I used GTmetrics to analyse my site.
I see the browsercashing is ok with GTmetrics tool while google insights tool is warning me about browser cashing.
now I see that plug ins are causing delay to load your sites.
I give you little example: I had autoptimaze plug in to correct things but I saw in GTmetrics that this plug in causing load delay after removing this plug in I saw that I have booked load advance in GTmetrics.
my website is build on cherryframe plug in with shortcodes and I see in GTmetrics this cherry frame plug in causing great delay time for loading of my site.
my question is now what I think about plug ins:
am I rihgt that plug ins are causing site load delay ?and it is beter to not use plug ins plus they are commercial!!
just yes or know . if yes why? and if no why?
short answer wil be enough!!!
thanks
